Huntington

Michelle Rae Bucholz, born on February 8, 1974, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, passed away peacefully in her home in Huntington, Indiana, on September 5, 2025, with her friend and loving caregiver, Rhonda Gibson, by her side. Michelle faced a short battle with cancer, demonstrating remarkable strength and resilience throughout her journey.

For nearly 13 years, Michelle dedicated herself as an employee of Helvey and Associates, showcasing her commitment and professionalism. She earned her Associate's degree in Arts from the University of Phoenix, a testament to her continuous pursuit of knowledge and personal growth.

Michelle was not only known for her professional accomplishments but also for her warm personality and creativity. She was an excellent cook, putting extra time and love into each dish she prepared. Her culinary skills were matched only by her flair for crafting, as she had an innate ability to see an item and envision its creation, often stating, "I can make that." This spirit of creativity extended to all aspects of her life, making her a joy to be around. Among her proudest accomplishments was the purchase of her own home, a dream she achieved about a year prior to her passing.

Michelle is survived by her mother, Rose Marie Batey of Surprise, Arizona; her sons, Levi Lungaro and fiancée Robin of Merrillville, Indiana, and Quinten Spuehler and wife Ashtynn of Westville, Indiana; her daughter, Delaney Spuehler and boyfriend Tanner of Surprise, Arizona; and five cherished grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Ray Batey Jr.; her maternal grandparents, Frances "Frank" and Martha Sarna; and her paternal grandparents, Donald "Donnie" Ray Batey Sr. and Nelli Joe Batey.

While there will be no in-person services, friends and family are invited to visit online at halocremations.com to sign the guest book, leave condolences, or share memories.

Michelle’s legacy lives on through the love she shared and the lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, she requests that we take the time to hug someone we love, perform a random act of kindness, or do something to make someone smile. Donations can be made to stillwater-hospice.org.
