I was very sad to hear that Rhonne died. Thursday's child has far to go. Rhonne was a Thursday's child and she did go far. She was born a native Texan because her parents were based in Texas for the military but moved to Long Island, NY at an early age where my family would visit her family on Thanksgiving. I remember Rhonne was very smart and went to France as a foreign exchange student. Years later in the early 1980's, I remember visiting her in Key West Florida where she worked in the Public Library. Her children were born in Key West so you do not get more southern then that in the United States. She settled down in Louisville, Kentucky and worked for the City of Louisville until she retired. I remember her telling me the story about the newbies in Kentucky had to break into the Kentucky Derby and started to tell me a story about her climbing a chain-linked fence to do it that was very entertaining. She made it into the infield and enjoyed the Derby from the infield like many locals. I thought Rhonne remember my birthday because we were born only two weeks apart but I later heard she remembered everyone one's birthday and send them a card or greeting of some kind. We will miss Rhonne. Gary Cohen and Virgie Manning
