August 19, 2023, we said goodbye to an exceptional mother and wife after a long illness .

Patricia (age 81)was born May 16,1942, in Shelby, Ohio.

She and the love of her life, of 66 years, Kenneth had 3 children.

They lived most of their lives in Portland, Indiana. Patricia was a hard worker. She worked many years in different professions but her pride was working with special needs children at Jay County High School.

She loved to cook and will always be remembered for her specialty pies and her homemade noodles.

She loved her family dearly and sacrificed many of her own needs to meet theirs. She had a wonderful sense of humor and lived her life giving to others.

She was preceded in death by; her mother(Mae Hoffacker), father(Jack Wheeler), sisters; (Peggy, and Betty), and her son; Dale Schwartzkopf and his wife, Bev.

She is survived by her daughters; Mae(Chris) Haviland, Melissa K(Melissa R) Schwartzkopf, grandchildren; Angie Schwartzkopf, Holly(John) Carbahal, Heather(Brandon) St.John, and Leslie(Kyle) Johnson. Also, several great grandchildren; Christopher Carbahal, Kai Moore, Julian and Saffy Shaffer, Krosby, Lyla and Quincy Johnson.

Patricia will be cremated and did not want to have a memorial. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association.
