Susan Powers

Susan K. Powers passed away from an infection in her leg that spread into her bloodstream August 30, 2026. She was 64 years old. 

Born on the same day as Ronald Reagan and the same day, year and state as Axel Rose, she had a lot to live up to. 

She was the first grandchild on both sides. At three years old, she tried to keep it that by asking her mother to return her baby sister to the hospital. much to her disappointment, her mother refused to co-operate. 

She enjoyed camping in Northern Michigan, camping, canoeing, collecting Petoskey stones and picking wild blueberries. Susan also enjoyed spending time with her Great Aunt, Wilma Gordon who rented a camper there. 

She also went to many Sci-fi cons where she made many friends and was well known in the con community. 

She was a cat lover who had many cats she loved dearly over the years and advocated for cat causes. 

She was predeceased by her father Dan Powers, her grandparents Opal and Norman Powers and Alice and Vernal Layton. She is survived by her younger sister Beth Powers and mother Pat Powers.
