Sandra Lee Jackson, age 65, of Louisville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Born on August 25, 1959, she was the daughter of her beloved parents, Anna Jewell Shrader (Nanny) and Joseph Roger Shrader.

Sandy was a beacon of light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Although her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and countless others, we invite you to remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the extraordinary way she lived and the lasting impact she had on those around her.

Sandy was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Jewell Shrader (Nanny); father, Joseph Roger Shrader; former husband, Wesley Joe Hatfield Sr.; sisters-in-law, Kathy Shrader and Belinda Green; her aunt "D" Delia Vest; her "grandparents," Bonnie Tucker and Rev. Garnett Tucker Jr.; dear friend, David Kuprion Sr.; and other cherished members of the Shrader, Jackson, and Hatfield families who welcomed her with open arms.

She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Halbert Jackson; her son, Wesley Joe Hatfield Jr. (Chelsea); brothers, Joseph R. Shrader and Larry W. Shrader (Evelyn); cousin, Debbie Sandage (Richard); niece, Shanda Green; sisters, Kelly Kuprion and Chrissy Brockman (Chris); “son,” Garret Summers; "mother-in-law," Patty Tucker; and "son-in-law," Jim Lynch. Known affectionately as "Granny," Sandy's legacy continues through Rayleigh Hall, Gunner Hatfield, Tresse Smith, Clovis Smith, Presley Lynch, and many other children who cherished her dearly, along with an abundance of family and friends who adored her.

Throughout her life, Sandy spread love, joy, strength, faith, and hope to all she encountered. Her career at the Kentucky Unemployment Office culminated in her retirement in 2021. Sandy’s dedication to her faith and her desire to bring light to those in need epitomized her joyful and generous spirit.

Those who knew Sandy will fondly remember her infectious smile, overwhelming laughter, deep-rooted faith in Jesus, and her unwavering commitment to kindness. She had a remarkable gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. She found joy in music, rainbows, sunsets, ladybugs, animals, and her family. So many were blessed to know her as Sandy, Mrs. Jackson, Sam, Mom, Wife, Granny, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Momma J, Companion, Friend, and countless other roles she embraced.

Though Sandy's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, encouraging us to carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be planned at a later date.
