In Loving Memory of a One-of-a-Kind Dad

Some people leave this world quietly, but leave behind a lifetime of stories, memories, laughter, and love. My dad was one of those people.

He was amazing, goofy, sneaky, loving, and truly one of a kind. He had a personality that could make you laugh when you least expected it, a mischievous side that kept everyone on their toes, and a way of making memories that will never be forgotten. He was the kind of person who could make you shake your head one minute and laugh until you cried the next.

Like many people, Dad faced struggles that weren't always visible to the world. He carried pain and fought personal battles throughout his life, including struggles with his mental health and addiction. His journey was not always an easy one, but those struggles were only a part of his story, never the whole story. He was so much more than the hardships he faced. He was a father, a loved one, a friend, and a man whose laughter, personality, and love will never be forgotten.

Behind the hard days was a man who was funny, loving, full of life, and wonderfully imperfect. He was human. He had his ups and downs, his good days and bad days, but he was still our dad, and he was loved.

He leaves behind his former wife, Melissa, and his four children, David, Anthony, Rachelle, and Ashley. Though life may have taken everyone down different paths, the memories, connections, and love he leaves behind will forever be a part of their lives.

He was preceded in death by his beloved little sister, Melissa Dunn, who held a special place in his life. She was someone who never stopped looking out for him, always making sure to find him, check on him, and let him know that someone cared. Her love and concern for her big brother were a special kind of love, and we hope they have found each other again.

We will remember his goofy personality, his sneaky ways, the unexpected moments, the laughter, and all the little things that made him who he was. We will hold on to the memories that make us smile, even through the tears.

Losing him leaves a space that can never truly be filled. There are things we wish could have been different, words we wish we could say one more time, and moments we wish we could have back. But above all, we are grateful that we got to call him Dad.

We hope he has finally found the peace that life sometimes made so difficult for him to find here.

Dad, you were never perfect, but you were ours. You were loved through the good, the bad, the laughter, and the struggles. Your story was so much bigger than your battles, and your memory will always be bigger than the pain of losing you.

Rest peacefully, Dad. Keep being your goofy, sneaky self wherever you are. You will always be loved, always be missed, and never be forgotten.
