Michael "Mike" Wayne Hanson

Michael Wayne Hanson ("Mike") of Bloomfield, Indiana was born on September 19, 1975 and passed away on June 8, 2026. Mike was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching both collegiate and professional basketball, as well as major league baseball, and football and this was the topic of many conversations he enjoyed. Mike also enjoyed spending time with family reminiscing about the good old days growing up, attending family dinners, and time with his many pets whom he spoiled rotten. Mike was a sap for a stray dog or cat without a home or an owner to feed it, and didn't have the heart to turn any away. Mike was also friendly and enjoyed spending time with his neighbors who became dear friends.

Mike was predeceased by his father, Terry Wayne Hanson and his mother, Linda Lou (Hanson) Swinney, and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his siblings Marty Allen Keys of Solsberry, Indiana, John Tyron Keys of Sullivan Indiana, Thomas Wayne Staten (Jamie) of Hymera, Indiana, and his sister, Kimberly H. King (Danny) of Bloomfield, as well as his nephew, Kyle J. Hudson, niece Lindsay Anne Staten, two great nephews Traycen James Barlow and Trenton Michael Potts, and two step-nieces Taylor Danielle King and Makayla Elizabeth (King) Mendell (Zach). He is also survived by his aunt Sharon Scrogam (Sonny) and his uncle Bob Hanson, and several cousins.

There will be a celebration of Mike's life on Saturday, July 18th at the Ridgeport Community Church in Bloomfield, Indiana from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Bob L. England speaking.
