MICHAEL JAMES HOUSTON
Michael passed away March 26, 2023 in Frankfort, Kentucky after a long illness. Michael graduated high school in 1964 and went to the University of Washington, interrupted by one year of school in Chile during which he started to quite often go by Miguel. He moved to New York city in 1969, where he lived until 2022. He worked in world banking, a job that made use of him being fluent in multiple foreign languages. Michael loved to travel, which he did to a great extent for his job as well as recreationally. Next to traveling his love was collecting art, vintage travel posters, and attending many Broadway plays over the years.
Michael was known by his friends for his great sense of humor, his devoted friendship, and his unique mannerisms.
In the summer of 2022 Michael moved to Frankfort Kentucky, to be close to his cousin James Lee Hixon, wife Elly, and son James Lee II, cousins as well as very close and loved friends. Michael James Houston was born to William Charles Houston Jr. and Martha Lillian Houston (Newman) July 15, 1946 in Seattle, Washington Michael was preceded in death by his parents, William and Martha, and brother Stephen Andrew Houston. Michael was the oldest of four children and is survived by his brother, William Charles Houston III (Bill), sister Pamela Desruisseaux, and three generations of nieces and nephews, the youngest being born in January 2023.
Michael is also survived by his lifelong friend Roberta Woodmansee, as well as numerous other friends who live throughout the world. Michael was very much loved and will be missed by all.
