Marvin Lee McLain

August 29, 1968 — August 30, 2025

Marvin Lee McLain, age 57, of Bedford IN, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on August 30th 2025. Born on August 29th 1968 in Bedford, IN to parents Kittie and Richard McLain.

Lee attended Mitchell High school. After graduation he proudly served in the National Guard for eight years. Spending much of his working life in auto body repairs and painting. He took pride in his craft and the many projects he worked on throughout the years before retiring. Outside of work, Lee found joy in the simple things. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and camping trips that often turned into treasured family memories. He also had a special passion for restoring Coleman lanterns, bringing them back to their full glory with patience, skill and care. Most of all, Lee was a father, devoted grandfather, friend and companion. He treasured time with his family, whether it was sharing stories around a campfire, countless sleepovers and fun spontaneous adventures with his grandchildren or simply enjoying a quiet evening together with his loving life partner Crystal. He especially loved teaching his grandchildren the things he knew best — how to fix what was broken, how to enjoy the quiet peace of a fishing trip and how to appreciate the little things in life. His humor could bring a smile even on the hardest days and his presence gave comfort and strength to those around him. He was the type of man who could always be counted on — quick to lend a helping hand, to share a laugh, or to offer wise advice. The love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will be cherished, his lessons remembered and his spirit carried forward by those whose lives he so deeply impacted.

He is survived by his loving companion Crystal Mitchell, beloved pet Scotty. Daughters Haylee (Paul) Fulton; Sanna (Isaac) Brown. Mother Kittie McLain, Grandchildren Peyton, Tucker, Daniel and Ryan. Brothers Eddie McLain and John McLain. Best friend of 40years Ron Silvers. He was preceded in death by his father Richard McLain, brother David McLain, Paternal Grandparents Curt and Gwen McLain and Maternal Grandparent Thelma “Sammie” Cole.

A celebration of life will be held on September 21st at Apron Strings in Bedford IN from 3pm-6pm
