Linda Kay Porter, 67, of Bloomfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026.
Born on October 17, 1958, Linda was the daughter of the late Delbert Petersen and the late Phyllis (Shover) Petersen. She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Porter, in 2023.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Charles Porter; her siblings, Keith (Mary) Petersen and Diane (Ron) Thompson; her children, Steve (Karissa) Hoppe, Kristine (Tracy) Weber, Jackie Hoppe, Tyler (Samantha) Hoppe, Thomas Porter, and Carrie (Matt) Jewell; 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
Linda worked for 12 years at Chase Bank and was also an entrepreneur. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, and attending races of all kinds, but her greatest joy was her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was known for her generous heart, thoughtful gifts, and the pride she took in those she loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 8, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Shelter House 9 (A & B), 2450 South Endwright Road, Bloomington, Indiana 47403.
Family and friends are invited to join in sharing memories, photos, songs, poems, and stories in honor of Linda. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks will be provided. Guests who are able are encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert to share. The gathering will continue through the evening.
Linda will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, generosity, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
