Kenneth James Maurer, 79, passed away on July 9, 2019 at Mitchell
Manor in Mitchell, Indiana after a long fight against Lung Cancer.

He was born to Stephen Albert and Beatrice Ida Rose (Pfeiffer) Maurer
on March 15, 1940 in Chicago where he remained a lifelong resident of
Chicagoland.

He was preceded in death by his sister Charmaine May Maurer, his
parents, his grandson Jeremy Kenneth Ingram, his brother Stephan
Richard Maurer, and his stepson Clifton Barnes.

He is survived by his brothers Donald (Susan) Maurer of Homer Glen IL
and Terry Maurer of Chicago, and his sister-in-law Karen Maurer
Olympia Fields IL ; his children with his first wife Janice Cook:
Christina (Daniel) Ingram of Springville, IN, Stephanie (Larry)
Sanders of Litchfield, MI, and Glenn Maurer of Bedford, IN; his
grandchildren: Michelle (Bill) Ingram-Sanders, Ashley (Jacob) Grabs,
Tiffany (Josh) Spearson, Josh (Ashley) Ingram, Antonio Scampini, and
Nicholas Scampini. Great-grandchildren: Elana, Jeremy, & Audrey
Sanders; Trenton, Jackson, & Jameson Grabs; Jacob & Talia Spearson;
Jonathan & Isaac Ingram; Roman & Kannon Scampini; Annabella Scampini;
and by his wife Henrietta Barnes and stepsons Tobias and Keith.

He worked at the First National Bank in Chicago and was an Auxiliary
Police officer with the Village of Park Forest IL. Family was very
important to him and his children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Cremation was chosen and the family will be arranging a celebration of
life/family reunion in the Chicago area later this year.
