Julie Ann Ward

September 19, 1963 — May 3, 2025

Julie (Juls) Ann Ward (Bontempo), 61, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away on May 3, 2025, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, after a difficult battle with cancer. Born on September 19, 1963, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She is survived by her husband, Jeffery L. Ward, a son, Darnell (Marina) Bontempo, 1 sister, Lori (Mark) Schmidt, 2 brothers, Gregory (Susan) Bontempo and Jeffrey (Patti) Bontempo, 15 Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchildren, and multiple Nephews and Nieces. Preceded in death by her daughter, Candace Bontempo, Son, W. James Bontempo, Mother, Sylvia Jones, and Father, Frank Bontempo.

Julie had many professions in her life, but none compared to her last place of employment. She worked for Almco Steel, in Bluffton, Indiana, from June 2022 until her passing. She loved all of her co-workers and they loved her. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. Remember Julie not for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact she had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A “Celebration of Life” will held, in Julie’s honor, on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, at the Southwest Community Center Apartments, 6100 South Bend Dr., Fort Wayne, Indiana.
