John T Mccormick

John Thomas McCormick died May 31, 2024, in Bloomington IN. Born March 13, 1938, in North Madison, Indiana, he was the only son of Dwight James and Florence May (O’Neal) McCormick. John T graduated from University High School in Bloomington in 1956. His early adulthood included attending Indiana University and then joining the U.S.Army Reserves. He retired from Otis Elevator in 2003.

John T loved building and flying model airplanes and followed that in later life with collecting and flying kites of all sizes and shapes. His first car was a VW Beetle, which he kept running and driving for over 40 years. Drawing from his father’s military experiences in both World Wars, John T developed an interest in U.S. military history in the later years of his life.

Preceded in death by his parents, John T, a reclusive individual for most of his life, requests that no memorial service be held. After cremation, he will be buried near his parents in Hebron Cemetery, Madison, IN
