In Loving Memory of Jesse Palmer

December 20, 1938 – June 14, 2025

On December 20, 1938, Jesse Palmer was born to the late Jesse Palmer and Nina Britt Palmer in Brownsville, Kentucky. He spent his childhood in the Brownsville area before moving to Louisville, Kentucky, where he met Mary Elizabeth Curry Palmer. From this union, they were blessed with seven children: Karen Jean Palmer, Pamela Palmer, Jeffrey Palmer, Christopher Palmer, Kaia Palmer, Keith Palmer, and Shronda Palmer.

Jesse also had other beloved children: Jeanene Sanders, Jesse Todd, Stacy Todd, Troy Todd, Maurice Todd, Marc Todd, and Tammy Rucker.

He worked for Browns Roofing Company and in the 1970’s he relocated to Chicago where he dedicated many years of hard work before retiring. Following his retirement from Browns Roofing, he continued his strong work ethic at Smitty’s Towing, where he also retired in the early 2000s.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Nina Palmer; his sisters, Rosetta and Helen Palmer; his daughter, Karen Palmer; and his son, Troy Todd Sr., and a grandson Troy Todd Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons: Keith Palmer, Christopher Palmer, Jeffrey Palmer, Mark Todd, Stacy Todd, Maurice Todd, and Jesse Todd; and his daughters: Pamela Taylor, Jeanene Sanders, Kaya Hogue, Shronda Beavers, Tammy Parker, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Jesse brought joy wherever he went. His easygoing spirit, warm smile, and kind heart made him someone everyone loved to be around. His presence will be deeply missed, and the space he leaves behind in our lives and hearts is immeasurable.

“To know him was to love him.”
