Hubert "Butch" Wilhoit, 78, passed away on May 19, 2025, in Bloomington, Indiana, with his family by his side. He was born March 8, 1947 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the son of Hubert and Lillian Wilhoit. Hubert proudly served four and a half years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam war aboard the USS Kitty Hawk and USS America. After his service he received his degree in engineering. He spent most of his career in the automotive field and then the medical field retiring as a Quality Control Engineer from Boston Scientific in 2008. He could often be found outside working around the house or spending time with family and friends. His family was the most important part of his life and he was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He was always the BBQ chef at all the family dinners and was known for his BBQ turkeys at every Thanksgiving dinner. On June 20, 1969 he married Jill McEachern and she survives. He is also survived by his sons Robert, Matthew, and Seth (Katie), and his daughter Lisa; and his grandchildren Michael, Mason, Caylee, Austin and Lincoln. Hubert was preceded in death by his parents and his two sisters, Wanda Knox and Joyce McKibben. Per his wishes he will be cremated and no traditional funeral service will be held.
