Gwendolyn Louise Beatley

Gwendolyn Louise "Gwen" Beatley (Simpson), age 76, passed away on April 16, 2025, in Bloomington, Indiana. Born on August 23, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee, Gwen lived a life marked by devotion to her family and an unwavering commitment to those around her.

Gwen was the beloved daughter of Eula and Louie A. Simpson. She grew up in a close-knit family alongside her siblings: Margarette Kerns McDonald and Shirley Cox, who survive her, and L.A. Simpson and Georgia Townsend, who preceded her in death.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Gwen is lovingly remembered by her daughter Heather Beatley (Donnie Drake), her son Michael "Todd" Galligher, Sr., and her cherished grandchildren: Alexander England, Nick Hattley, and Michael Galligher, Jr. Her legacy also lives on through countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives she touched with kindness and care.

Known for her dedication and tireless work ethic, Gwen was someone who consistently put the needs of others before her own. Her fierce love for her family was evident in everything she did. Whether offering support during difficult times or celebrating joyful moments together, Gwen’s presence brought comfort and strength to those around her.

She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory bring peace and comfort to those she loved so dearly.
