Gail Denise Hunter
July 13, 1953 – September 11, 2025
Gail Denise Hunter was born to Willie and Maddie Hunter on July 13, 1953, and grew up in the San Fernando Valley, graduating from San Fernando High School. From the very beginning, Gail marched to the beat of her own drum—a fiercely independent and creative soul with a heart of service.
Guided by compassion, Gail devoted her life to nursing. She served as a NICU and PICU nurse, later extending her care as a hospice nurse. In her mid-60s, ever eager to grow and give, she became a Certified Case Manager and spent two adventurous years traveling the country as a case manager. After her final travel assignment, Gail settled joyfully in Bloomington, Indiana, to share life with her beloved wife.
Gail is survived by her loving and devoted wife, Rev. Minnassa Gabon (Villa Willis); her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Meri Hunter; two treasured grandchildren, Aurora and Roque; her cherished stepdaughter, Lily Williams; her dear brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Clovis Scott Sr.; and her adored nephew and niece, Kobie and Cheyenne Scott.
A Celebration of Life honoring Gail’s radiant spirit will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Unity of Bloomington. Family and friends are invited to gather in love and remembrance of a woman who lived with courage, creativity, and boundless care.
