Doris Eileen Carr

Doris Eileen Denton Carr, age 95, of Bloomfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 7th, 2025, at home surrounded by family.

Born on August 18th, 1929, in Hammond, Indiana, Doris was the daughter of Henry and Zola Denton. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, John Henry Carr; her son Kevin Carr; and her daughter, Karen Carr Dzimitrowicz.

Doris attended High School and worked at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio before marrying John in 1947. She was a published poet, a freelance writer for the Marmaduke comic strip, and also studied art at the school of Art Institute of Chicago.

She is survived by her son, Kent Carr; granddaughter, Kathrine Howell; grandsons, Robert (Damaris) Howell and Richard (Patrick) Howell; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Thompson; great-grandson Thomas Thompson; and her beloved cat, Grey Baby.

Doris will be dearly missed by all her family, friends, and all who knew her.
