Donald Bolton

Lexington

Donald D. Bolton, age 72, passed in Lexington on February 20th, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. Born in New Mexico, he carried the military spirit with him throughout his life through Japan, Hawaii and others places — while staying resilient, steady, and grounded.

He was a man who loved working on roofs and was never one to shy away from fixing anything that needed attention. If something was broken, he was already on his way with tools in hand. He generously gave his time and talents to neighbors, always ready to help with a project, lend advice, or simply show up when someone needed him. He didn’t do it for recognition — it was simply who he was.

He was married for nearly 45 beautiful years to the love of his life, Kathy Bolton. Together they built a life centered on commitment, loyalty, and family. He is now at peace with his oldest child, John Bolton.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy Bolton; his daughters, Chelsea Benson and Christie Bolton; and their families, who will carry forward his values of hard work, humility, and service.

To his family, he was more than a provider — he was a hero. A hero who would never take credit for his sacrifices or the strength he showed every day. He simply did what needed to be done, without complaint and without applause.

He will be deeply missed, forever honored, and always remembered as the steady foundation beneath us all.
