Diana Lynn Chaffin Banks

Diana Lynn Chaffin Banks, age 70, passed away Monday May 4th, 2026.

Diana was born in Indianapolis Indiana on May 5th, 1955 to Doris McCormick and William Chaffin. Diana was one of five sisters who she cherished, speaking of them often. She was a beloved mother and grandmother to her son, two grandsons and one great grandson. Diana married the love of her life, reuniting after 30 years, James Banks on July 9th, 2016 at the place she loved the most, the lake. She loved spending time with her family any chance she could get. She looked forward to spending her summers at the lake with her son. The lake was her happy place, she loved boating, fishing and spending time on the beach with family and friends. She was known at the lake as “Momma Chaffin”. Her prized possessions were her camper, boat and golf cart. Anyone that got the privilege to know her, knew what a wonderful and spunky woman she was. Diana was a simple, yet complex little lady.

Diana is survived by her son William (Lauren); Sister Barbara (Barb); Grandsons; Tyler and Kyle; Great-grandson Logan; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. Diana is preceded in death by her parents Doris and William; Husband James; Sisters Pamela (Pam), Deborah (Debbie) and Sandra (Sandy). Celebration of life will be held in June, date TBD at Lake Santee in Greensburg Indiana.
