Brenda Gail Steele

Brenda G. Steele, 79, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Northern Lakes in Angola, Indiana.

Brenda was a devoted wife, mother, and stepmother whose gentle spirit and unwavering love shaped the lives of those around her. She is survived by her husband, Adam Steele; her daughter, Sona Sanders; her stepchildren, Allen Steele, Patricia Steele, and Deborah Norton; and her sisters, Teresa Carter of Monroe, Michigan, Lura Daroczy of Newport, North Carolina, and Rhonda Breeding of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Irene (Webb) Brooks and Frank Brooks, as well as her brother, Terry Brooks.

Brenda found joy in the simple, beautiful things in life. She was an avid gardener, happiest with her hands in the soil and surrounded by the flowers she nurtured with such care.

Above all, she cherished time spent with her family—sharing stories, laughter, and the quiet comfort of being together. Her kindness, warmth, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
