Betty MacKenzie

Betty Ann MacKenzie, age 94, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026. She was born on March 3, 1932, as Betty Ann Riedell.

In 1950, Betty married the love of her life, Kay Don MacKenzie, the founder of Crossroads Lincoln-Mercury, who preceded her in death at the young age of 54. Together, they raised their family in Garden City, Michigan, later making their home in Greenwood, Indiana.

Betty is survived by her two children, Don MacKenzie and Linda Lewis. Don has two children, Annette & Jordan. Linda has three children, Ryan, Chett, & Nathan; and many great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy. Betty is also survived by her two sisters, Jeanne McDonald, and Shirley Leblanc. She was preceded in death by one sister, Donna Querbach, and two brothers, Bob Riedell, and Donnie Riedell.

Early in life, Betty worked as a beautician, a career that reflected her warmth, creativity, and love for people. She was known for her generous heart, her affection for her family, and her love for her poodles. Betty was also a gifted artist, expressing her creativity through drawings, paintings, ceramics, and crocheting, along with her hobby in creataing 3D-style cards she lovingly created for others. In her younger years, she was an Avid Bowler on several leagues, Loved to Travel, and Loved to play Euchre w/ Family and Friends. A special treat in life was her Girls Night with her daughter Linda, and granddaughter Annette for many years.

Betty Loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, while her family takes comfort in the promise found in the Bible - that they will see her again.
