William Meade Mcchesney

William (Bill) M. McChesney, 80, passed away on June 18, 2023. He was born in Ridgeway, PA, on August 8, 1942, to Robert M. McChesney and Louise (Wells) McChesney.Bill married Pamela D. Brooks on October 27, 1984. He is survived by his wife Pam, brother Gary (Elizabeth) McChesney, his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephew. Bill served in the U.S. Army, after his discharge from the Army he went to Slippery Rock University where he graduated with a MFA degree. Bill had a few different careers, but when the opportunity came along for he and his wife to purchase a 9 hole golf course and some more land to turn it into an 18 hole golf club, he was excited to realize a dream of his. Through their determination and hard work, Old Hickory Golf Club became Putnam Counties first 18 hole golf course.They sold the business after 17 years due to Bills failing health. After moving back to Indianapolis from Greencastle, Bill realized he couldn't be idle, so he wrote and had published 6 novels which were well received. As his health continued to deteriorate, he appreciated the excellent care that he received at the Richard L Roudebush V.A. Hospital. He and his wife were always impressed with the level of care, kindness and respect that is shown to the Veterans.There will be no services for Bill, a date for a celebration of life has not yet been set.
