Lurlie Hopkins

Lurlie (Nelson) Hopkins, 84, from Frankfort passed on June 7, 2023, at Life Care Center of Rochester, Indiana. Lurlie was born in Lackey, Kentucky, to Rev. Charles and Mildred Nelson on November 27, 1938.
She worked at Mallory Controls in Frankfort and as a nurse's aide at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville for several years.
Lurlie's survivors include three sons: Charles (Kim) of Frankfort, Ken (Karen) of Logansport, Mark of Rochester, her loving grandchildren (Christopher and Benjamin), and great grandchildren (Ian and Elliot), along with step- grandchildren and many wonderful friends and neighbors.
Lurlie was well known for her beautiful and intricate handiwork which she expressed in knitting, crocheting, quilting, basketmaking, dollmaking, and the list goes on. Lurlie's cats, Tashina and Tess, were the love of her life.
Lurlie was preceded in death by all of her siblings except for Linda Smith of Arkansas.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to any animal charity.
