Kimberly Nurney sadly passed away in her independent home at Faces of Change in Louisville, KY, on June 23, 2023. She was a long time resident of Portsmouth, VA, where she was born on March 20,1966. Kimberly was a very independent woman and is survived by her three daughters; Elizabeth Glynn, Sierra Rodriguez, Bobbi Jo Andrews, and her six grandchildren; Nathan Hernandez, Paul Rodriguez Jr, Liliana and Christian Rodriguez, Jamie Faye and Jaxon Luke. Kim never had an easy life. She was free spirited and strong willed and determined to make her life a journey. She lived in Portsmouth, VA most of her life until she decided to make a life changing decision to better herself and her life in Louisville, KY at Faces of Change. At Faces of Change she was able to overcome her demons, put to rest her past and move on to a better sober life for herself. She met a lot of wonderful people who helped her with this long journey. She made a lot of people smile and laugh and it was real easy being around her. Ms. Kim was sober 10 months when the lord decided it was time to bring her home and she passed in her sleep. We are so thankful she was able to overcome her fears and was able to find her peace. Not a day will go by that we won't think about Kimberly Nurney and the love we have for our family. We will be forever grateful for her and her journey and be forever proud of her strength to start a new life. The family has decided to cremate Kimberly Nurney and no memorial service will take place. We ask that you keep us all in your prayers and say a few for our Mother who will now be living a wonderful life at peace with the Good Lord upstairs.
As our mother would always say to us as kids: I love you and in our hearts you'll always be Forever Young. ❤️Until we meet again. We love you Mom!
