Kimberly Kay Cady

February 26, 1964 — December 5, 2023

Kimberly Kay Gehrt-Cady (59) passed away after a brief battle with cancer on December 5th, 2023, with her loving husband and son by her side. Born February 26th, 1964, to Gloria and Arlen Gehrt, Kim grew up and attended New Ulm High School with her sister Tammy. After high school, Kimberly gave birth to daughter Sara and son Joshua. Shortly after the birth of Joshua, Kimberly moved to Washington State where she attended school at Highline Community College.
She worked in multiple industries including aerospace, professional laundry services, motorcycle parts sales, and food services. On August 17, 2001, Kimberly married Dorn Cady and together they shared a love story which would span 22 years and several states, finally ending up in Bloomington, Indiana. The two enjoyed travel, business, and spending time with family.
Though she was the best wife and mother anyone could ask for, she really shined when it came to being a grandmother. She fiercely loved her grandkids and supported them unconditionally. They will forever be grateful for all the time they spent with her taking walks, putting together puzzles, baking, and watching movies. She will always be remembered for her huge heart, sense of humor, and infectious smile.
Kimberly leaves behind her husband Dorn Cady, as well as her two children, four grandchildren, a sister, and niece and nephew. They include daughter Sara Walch, son Joshua Sturm, granddaughters Peyton Walch, Austyn Walch, and Charlotte Sturm, grandson Corbin Walch, sister Tammy Gehrt-Siefkes, niece Bethany Grosam, and nephew Desmond Siefkes. She was proceeded in death by her parents Gloria and Arlen Gehrt.
