James William Head

James William Head, 73, of Spencer, passed away on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024, surrounded by

his loving family. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Goldie Head, his son Michael, and many

beloved aunts and uncles. He is survived by his life partner, Georgette Marmie; his sons, J. Brian

(Angel) and Nathan; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Wanetta Swanson.

Jim dedicated 38 years of his career to General Electric. Known for his exceptional handyman skills,

Jim was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a devoted volunteer with

the Area Ten Agency on Aging and actively participated in The Men's Club at a retirement

community in Florida, where he aided hurricane victims.

Jim had a deep love for the outdoors, often spending time walking and riding his bike in McCormick’s

Creek State Park. He had a profound passion for animals and cherished all his pets.

The family will hold a private remembrance service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s honor can

be made to the Owen County Humane Society.
