James H. Shippey Iv

James (Jay) H. Shippey IV, of Louisville KY, formerly from Ashland KY died Tuesday February 8, 2022 in his sleep.
Mr. Shippey was born September 6, 1959 in Ashland KY, the son of the late Mr. James H. Shippey III and the late Mary Evelyn Layman Shippey. He was preceded in death by a younger brother, John Samuel Shippey. Surviving relatives include two sisters, Stephany K. Collins (Dell) of Huntington, WV; and Anne Terwilliger (Fred) of Charleston WV.
In his youth Mr. Shippey had always excelled in his studies and at sports but was afflicted by schizophrenia in early adulthood. The exact cause of schizophrenia isn't known and treatment is usually lifelong.
Funeral arrangements have not been made at this time. But family would suggest anyone who is interested in donating flowers to please make a contribution in Jay ( or James) name to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) or to Wellspring - Coalition for the Homeless Louisville KY.
