Daniel Leroy Jones

Daniel LeRoy Jones, gone to soon at the age of 53. Also known as Danny, Dan "The Man" and Poppy.
Daniel was born on August 19, 1969 in Seattle, Washington and passed suddenly from natural causes on June 26, 2023 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Daniel was loved by many, with family and friends stretching from Washington state to Florida. He grew up and went to school in the Bay Area of California and on Whidbey Island, Washington. He made Kentucky his home where he met and built a life with his love, Margaret Julayne, of 23 years.
Daniel had a big kind heart, was compassionate and sensitive. He was a loving and dedicated caregiver to Margaret Julayne, providing unwavering support while she battled cancer and continued medical issues.
He was a hard worker - always at the ready to lend a hand. He was smart, intelligent and funny. Daniel was competitive and enjoyed playing pool, cornhole, bones (dominos) and cards. He loved chasing his grandkids around with his "vampire teeth" as they laughed and carried on. He also took great pride and joy in doing his yard work. Daniel was well liked by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was fun, had an adventurous spirit and a contagious smile.
Daniel was a "jack of all trades", working in a variety of industries. He spent the last 12 years as a valued employee at Premier Matt Rental & Dust Mops.
Daniel is survived by his Wife, Margaret Julayne Gumm Jones; Mother, Nancy Bauer (Stan); Sisters, Sarah Shields (Kory Palmer) and Jennifer Kirkendall (Gary); Son, Christopher Daniel Jones Friend; Daughters, Tabatha Blair (Jeff Webb) and Patricia Murphy (Jeremy); Grandchildren, Alan Luckett III, Wes Luckett, Beralin Webb, Kealin Webb, and Justin Murphy; Nephews, Tyler Quinlan (Heather) and Leland Quinlan; Niece, Jamie Garcia (Thomas) and many extended family and friends.
Preceded in death by his Daughter, Katelynn Nicole Jones Friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 23rd from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm at River View Park (Greenwood Boat Docks), Louisville, Kentucky.
