Carl Hodges

Carl Hodges was born on Sept. 27, 1954 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. He passed away Sunday December 17, 2023 after a short stay at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. How fitting to beginand end his journey from the same place.
Carl grew up in Selma, Indiana and went to Wapahani High School. He worked 20+ years for HiggsTrucking, hauling mail for the US Postal Service. As a young adult, he was known as "Crazy Carl" becausehe loved to be a prankster, just to make people laugh. Many of these memories are still talked abouttoday. Over the years he has left the crazy antics behind, and was just known by everyone as "Carly."He loved to listen to Classic Rock while hanging out with friends and family. He would mow yards and doodd jobs, to pass the time. When he got paid, he would head straight to his favorite place… The Casino. Carl spoke a language of his own. If you could "Talk Carl" he knew you were a true friend.
Everybody loved carl because he had the biggest heart and always made us laugh. He would do anything to help, all you had to do was ask.
He was preceded in death by his girlfriend Debbie Higgs, his mother and father Nelson and MaxineHodges, his sisters and brothers Marcella (Marty) Hodges, Bob Hodges, Bonnie Gullet and Roger Hodges.
Carl is survived by his son Carl (CJ) Clevenger, sisters Joyce Wright, Martha West, Becky Reum and JanetHodges, along with many nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews.
Carl chose to be cremated with a celebration of life at a date to be determined.
